Thirteen Pakistani nationals have arrived in Himachal Pradesh on valid visas, either to visit the state or meet their relatives. The state government has instructed them to leave Himachal by April 29, 2025. If they fail to comply, legal action will be taken against them.
This development follows the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, which has prompted the central government to issue strict directives regarding the movement of Pakistani nationals in India. According to initial reports, the 13 individuals have entered Himachal Pradesh on tourist visas or for family visits. They belong to different communities, and their stay in the state is now being closely monitored.
The state government has instructed the police to take action against any Pakistani nationals found in the state after the given deadline. The government has emphasized that violators will be subject to legal consequences, including possible imprisonment. Additionally, those who have hosted these visitors will also face punitive measures.
The state’s Home Department has directed police chiefs to compile a report on this issue and submit it within three days. The police are conducting a thorough verification of identification documents for individuals arriving from other states. This step is part of heightened security measures following the terror attack in Pahalgam.
In response to the orders from the Ministry of Home Affairs, the state government has taken swift action. Additional Chief Secretary of the Home Department, Omkar Sharma, confirmed that these measures are in full compliance with the central government’s directives. The police headquarters held meetings on Friday and Saturday to ensure proper implementation of these orders.
The government has made it clear that failure to adhere to the deadline will lead to legal action, and no leniency will be shown to those who do not leave the state within the prescribed timeframe.
