The skies of tourist destination Khajjiar were covered with colorful paragliders on Friday. Eighty participants from 15 states participated in the Himalayan Monal National Aero Fest-2021. Hundreds of spectators were present to watch this game taking place in the air. The participant from Nepal swung the paraglider in the sky in such a way that all the spectators and the chief guest were astonished. Apart from this, the soldiers of the army also showed feats with paragliders.
The tunes of the army band mesmerized the eyewitnesses. Paragliding of two participants had to be canceled due to change in wind. They will be given a chance to paragliding on Saturday. Earlier, the Chief Guest, Air Force Dalhousie Group Captain Pradeep Bhardwaj inaugurated the paragliding. During the competition, each participant will be given three chances to do paragliding in the air. The best performing participant will be declared the winner.
Cultural programs were organized in the evening. Senior Superintendent of Police Arul Kumar was present as the special guest, who was honored by the Deputy Commissioner Chamba DC Rana by wearing a shawl and cap. The contingent from Lahaul-Spiti enthralled the audience by presenting the Lyul Sur Sangam dance. Artists of Gaujri Dance Group Saaho of District Chamba presented dances related to Gujjar community. Roshan and his wife glorified Shiva Mahima by singing Musadha.
Similarly, cultural groups from other states presented programs related to their own culture. People got to see the culture of different states of the country in one platform. On this occasion, Tourism Officer Vijay Kumar, ADM Amit Mehra, Assistant Commissioner Ram Prasad, SDM Naveen Tanwar, Executive Engineer of LNV, Jeet Singh Thakur, DSP Abhimanyu Verma and other departmental officers and dignitaries were present.
