Mandi: The first case of OMICRON variant of covid-19 has been reported in Himachal Pradesh. The health department had sent nine samples of COVID-19 positive for genome sequencing to NCDC (National Center for Disease Control), New Delhi. A woman who reached Mandi from Canada was tested positive for COVID-19, now confirmed to be positive for Omicron variant by NCDC. We are sending more samples to NCDC for sequencing. Now his RTPCR is negative and all his 3 contacts are also negative.
