A 19-year-old BTech student shot himself with a 12-bore gun at Sanana village near Devi Mor under Police Station Theog in Shimla district of Himachal Pradesh. This resulted in the death of the student. Police have registered a case and started investigation into the incident. However, why he did this has not been disclosed. According to the police, Rohit Vishal son Ramesh Sharma, village Sanana, Post Office Sandhu shot himself in his room. DSP Theog Lakhveer Singh said that 19-year-old Rohit was a B.Tech student at Atal Vihari Vajpayee Engineering College, Pragatinagar. For some reason he shot himself with a gun.
The police got information about this at around 6.30 pm on Monday. The police team reached the spot and took the body in possession and sent it for post-mortem on Tuesday. In the initial investigation, the police have found a case of suicide and have started the investigation by registering a case under section 174 of the IPC. The license of the 12 bore gun kept in the house is in the name of father Ramesh Chand. The DSP said that the police is investigating the matter thoroughly. Ramesh is a gardener. He has three sons. Rohit was the eldest.
It is learned that Rohit had come from Pragatinagar to get the vaccine in Chhaila. After that he came home. He called and asked the younger brother where is parents were. The younger brother told that they also had gone to get the vaccine. After this he locked himself in the room and started singing loudly. When his father came in the evening, he asked the younger son to call Rohit. On this the younger brother said that he has fallen asleep. When he looked inside, there was a gun lying there and Rohit was dead.
