In Baddi, the largest industrial area of Himachal Pradesh, an FIR has been registered against three officers, including an IRS, for assaulting a businessman over GST. Here, on Wednesday, traders raised slogans outside the GST office and demanded action against the culprits from the administration. He warned that if the officials are not arrested soon, the traders will agitate by closing the Baddi market. The Directorate of GST Vigilance Baddi sent a notice to businessman Azad Gupta on November 8 to file the tax. After the notice, he kept going to the office everyday. On November 16, when he reached the GST office after completing all the formalities, the officials there locked him in the room and beat him up.
