Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur calls on Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in New Delhi on Friday. The Chief Minister urged the Union Minister to increase the import duty on apples in the interest of apple growers of the state. He said that apples from other countries are coming to the Indian market, which is affecting the apple economy of the state.
The CM also urged the minister to extend the Industrial Development Grant Scheme for two more years. Apart from this, special central assistance should be provided for the construction of Mandi airport. He also urged for increasing the special central assistance for Himachal Pradesh. The CM also informed the Union Minister in detail about the focus on women empowerment schemes in the state budget presented for the coming financial year.
