On behalf of 7 H.P (I) Company National Cadet Corps (NCC) Shimla, under the guidance and direction of Commanding Officer Colonel D.R. Gargey, at Government Model Senior Secondary School Karsog, a Combined Annual NCC Training Camp-224 (CATC) is being conducted from first July. The first training shift of the National Cadet Corps concluded on Saturday with colorful presentations in the cultural evening program. On this occasion, Karsog MLA Hira Lal, Sub Divisional Officer (SDM) Surendra Thakur, Tehsildar Rajendra Thakur attended the program as chief guest. The cadets enthralled the guests and dignitaries by performing song-music, Himachali Naati, Himachali folk-song, patriotic songs, poetry-recitation, short-drama, group-song, dance. The colorful cultural performances given by the cadets enthralled everyone and themselves danced a lot to the beats of music and drums.
Chief guests MLA Hira Lal, S.D.M. Surendra Thakur and Tehsildar Rajendra Thakur praised the cadets for their multi-faceted talent and also appreciated their commitment, discipline, management skills and said that the youth would be better educated as well as in the country through NCC. They said that the spirit of service, service to the nation and love of the nation should be maintained. The guests accolade Commanding Officer Col. D.R. Gargey’s excellent services, inculcating discipline among the youths, to train and prepare the youths for service to the nation and social service and to make the youths ace citizens.
In this first training camp shift, 547 registered cadets (Senior Division, Junior Division, Junior Wing of Army Wing) of Shimla, Mandi and Solan districts were trained while the remaining NCC cadets in the second training shift will be trained from July 12 at the training camp at the same school Karsog and they will also be given training till July 21 and in the second training shift. On Sunday morning, all 547 cadets have been trained and left for their respective educational institutions and homes. Commanding Officer Col. D.R. Gargey said that the training of the cadets who appeared in the first shift in the camp was well organized and none of the cadets faced any problem or any uphill during the training. “The cadets were well trained and special care was taken for the food, hygiene and health facilities of the cadets and training personnel and training staff”, said Commanding Officer Colonel D.R. Gargey.
Col. Gargey also praised all the cadets for getting the training properly and proved them marvelous and topnotch citizens on every front , and Col. Gargey wished for cadets’ bright future and exhorted the cadets that the behavior of the cadets in the society should be the most different and special as the military’s discipliner and play your role with dutifulness in your society’s interest and your nation’s interest. Col. D.R. Gargey said that the cadets participated in the first training shift trained in drill, map-reading, arms-education and training, communication skills, management, nation-building, disaster-management, battle-craft, self-defense, physical posture education and other various training pursuits of NCC. Training was given by military training officers, associate NCC officers on many subjects like patriotism, patriotism, unity, social service and gun firing.
“The cadets have benefited from the main links of military training in ten days and along with training the cadets have also shown their talent in sports competitions and cultural programs which is commendable and the cadets displayed stamina, zeal, and demeanor like a conscientious soldier in every aspect of training”, said Commanding officer Col. D.R. Gargey of 7 H.P. (I) Company National Cadet Corps Shimla. The cadets thanked the Commanding Officer Col. Gargey, the training staff and the management team and said that they would continue to inculcate the qualities and qualities taught in the training throughout their lives by becoming great citizens for the service of their nation and social service.
