Union Information and Broadcasting, Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Anurag Singh Thakur has directed the concerned officers of the district to complete all the formalities related to the work of Hamirpur-Mandi National Highway at the earliest. Presiding over the meeting of District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) at Hamir Bhawan here on Monday, Anurag Singh Thakur said that related to providing compensation to the people coming under the control of this highway, cutting of trees and marking of dumping sites. All processes should be completed quickly. For this, all the concerned departments should coordinate with the district administration.While reviewing the Pradhan Mantri Gramin Sadak Yojana, Anurag Singh Thakur said that all the villages with a population of 250 to 500 in the district have been connected by roads. He directed the officials of the Public Works Department to include the main roads of the district in the third phase of this scheme, so that they can be upgraded. The Union Minister said that the work on the new campus of Dr. Radhakrishnan Government Medical College, Hamirpur, under construction at Jol Sappad, should be done on a war footing. For this, the Principal of the college regularly inspects the site. All the concerned departments should also work expeditiously for the expansion of electricity, water and other necessary facilities in the new campus. Anurag Singh Thakur also issued guidelines to the officers regarding ultrasound facility in the Medical College and other hospitals of the district. He told the officials of the Health Department that with the help of Panchayati Raj Institutions, Anganwadi, ASHA Workers, Nehru Yuva Kendra and other organizations, a massive awareness campaign should be conducted regarding TB, HIV-AIDS and other serious diseases. Apart from this, preparations should be made in advance from the department for seasonal diseases. While reviewing the schemes of Jal Shakti Department, Anurag Singh Thakur directed to complete the work of irrigation scheme of Nadaun expeditiously. He said that the pump operators working on outsource under various schemes in the district should get the honorarium on time.Taking strong notice of illegal mining in the district, the Union Minister directed the officials of the Mining Department to take prompt and effective steps. He said that modern technology should also be used to stop this. Anurag Singh Thakur asked the officials of the Agriculture Department to motivate the farmers to take advantage of the crop insurance scheme. He said that our farmer is the biggest entrepreneur. He should get maximum benefit of government schemes. For this, the officers of the department should coordinate with banks and agricultural meetings. He asked to identify the villages which are more than 5 km away from the bank branch and work expeditiously towards opening bank branches in those villages. During the meeting, the schemes of Social Justice and Empowerment Department, Food Supply and many other departments were also reviewed. On this occasion, Deputy Commissioner Debshweta Banik assured the Union Minister that all the guidelines issued in the meeting would be ensured in letter and spirit. HRTC Vice-Chairman Vijay Agnihotri, ADM Jitendra Sanjata, other officers and non-official members of the committee were also present in the meeting.
