Creative Expression Marks National PR Day at APG Shimla University

The School of Media and Mass Communication at APG Shimla University celebrated National Public Relations Day with vibrant student participation and hands-on learning activities, turning the spotlight on the power of communication in shaping public perception.

Observed every year on April 21, National PR Day, initiated by the Public Relations Society of India (PRSI), honors the role of public relations professionals in society and emphasizes the importance of ethical communication practices.

The event at APG was filled with energy as students actively took part in writing press releases, poster and chart-making competitions, creating colorful and informative displays that highlighted the history, meaning, and evolving importance of public relations in today’s world. These exhibits were displayed across campus and sparked thoughtful discussions among students and faculty alike.

Adding to the interactive atmosphere, students also participated in group discussions and role-play activities simulating real-world PR scenarios. These sessions allowed students to apply classroom concepts to practical situations, helping them better understand crisis communication, image management, and campaign planning.

Faculty members, including Dr. Neelam Sharma, Dr. Vijay Shree, and Mr. Ashwani Sharma, were present to guide the students and appreciated their efforts. They encouraged students to continue engaging with the field through active learning and responsible communication practices.

The event concluded with the message that Public Relations is not just a profession but a powerful tool for social impact, and today’s students must prepare themselves to become ethical and effective communicators.

The celebration was a successful blend of creativity, collaboration, and communication, giving students a platform to learn, express, and grow as future PR professionals.
