Heli taxi travel has become expensive in Himachal Pradesh. With the start of the new financial year, the fare per ride between Chandigarh to Dharamshala has increased by Rs 336 and between Chandigarh to Kullu by Rs 320. Air travel between Shimla-Chandigarh, Mandi-Dharamsala and Shimla-Mandi has become costlier by Rs 112. The fare between Mandi-Kullu and Shimla to Rampur has been increased by Rs 96 per ride. At the time of the launch of the UDAN scheme, there was an agreement between Pawan Hans Company and the government to increase the fare by Rs.100 per year.The air travel from Chandigarh to Dharamshala is via Shimla and Mandi. Similarly, the air travel from Chandigarh to Kullu is via Shimla and Mandi. Due to this, their rent has increased by up to Rs 300. The balance amount has increased due to GST. Heli taxi service is being provided six days a week between Shimla to Chandigarh and Shimla to Mandi. Booking can be done on all days except Sunday. Chandigarh to Dharamshala, Dharamsala to Mandi, Shimla to Rampur Heli Taxi flights on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Heli taxi service runs between Chandigarh to Kullu and Mandi to Kullu on Mondays, Fridays and Saturdays.
Will have to wait for Sanjauli Heliport
Now instead of Jubbarhatti airport, one will have to wait more for heli taxi from Sanjauli Heliport located in the middle of capital Shimla. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has not yet given permission to fly to Sanjauli Heliport. Service will start only after inspection by DGCA.
