The eyes of the employees of the state are on the honor ceremony of Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur being organized by the Himachal Pradesh Non-Gazetted Employees Federation in the state on April 3. This is because a section of the employees is demanding to remove the discrepancies that have come up due to the new pay scale. The biggest discrepancy in this is the termination of the 2-year rider. If this is announced by the Chief Minister, then it will benefit a large section of the employees. Apart from this, the second big demand of the employees is to restore the old pension, but keeping in mind the poor financial condition, the government is holding back from announcing it.There are two reasons for this, in which the first reason is the poor financial condition of the state and secondly, fulfilling this demand will increase the pressure on other BJP ruled states also. Till now, the main opposition party Congress has talked about restoring the old pension, due to which the ruling BJP is in trouble. The Non-Gazetted Employees Federation has set a target of mobilizing 10,000 employees for the Chief Minister’s honor ceremony being held at Hotel Peterhof, Shimla.
