There is good news for the employees working on contract in the state. The revised pay scale formula has been decided for the contract employees in Himachal Pradesh. Additional Chief Secretary Prabodh Saxena has issued office orders in this regard. The rules of the new pay scale are not being implemented on the contract employees, but after the order to give new pay scale to the regular employees, now the new rules have also been implemented. Contract employees tell the heads of departments whether the salary is needed on the new format or will have to be given on the existing one. It is clear in this office order that the contract employees will also get the revised pay scale. The new pay of the contract employee will increase on the basis of the pay matrix of the regular employee concerned of his level. For such a regular employee, there will be an increase of 60% on the amount given in the first cell in the valid level of the pay matrix fixed. Additional Chief Secretary Finance Prabodh Saxena has clarified that after the implementation of the new pay scale for regular employees, revision in the salary of contract employees has already been proposed. In such a situation, contract employees should also be given an opportunity to shift to the new pay format. This too is to be implemented from January 1, 2022. If the contract employees wish, they can take the revised salary benefits as per the new rules. They will also have to inform the concerned Head of Department about this. In this regard, new office orders have also been issued to all the administrative secretaries.
