Himachal cadre IPS officer P Arvind Digvijay Negi, arrested for handing over confidential documents to the Over Ground Worker (OGW) of banned terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba, has been deemed suspended. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has given this information to the state government.
The NIA informed the state government that Negi was arrested last Friday at 5:40 pm. It has been 48 hours since Negi was arrested on Sunday. This led to Negi’s deemed suspension. However, the State Home Department will issue its official written order on Monday due to the holiday on Sunday.
It may be noted that the NIA had registered a case against Negi on 6 November 2021 last year. Meanwhile, Negi was sent back from central deputation to Himachal Pradesh. During this, Negi was posted as Commandant in SDRF Junga. Another officer can be posted on this post on Monday.
