District Election Officer and Deputy Commissioner Solan Krutika Kulhari presided over a meeting organized today with the officials of various recognized political parties in view of the special brief revision of the photo voter lists of the five assembly constituencies of Solan district on the basis of the qualifying date of January 1, 2022. . The Deputy Commissioner said that as per the directions of the Election Commission of India, it has been decided to conduct a special brief revision of photo voter lists in the state. This special short revision is being implemented from 10th November to 9th December, 2021. The voter lists will be finally published on January 15, 2022. According to the special brief revision program, the draft publication of photo voter lists will be done on November 10, 2021. Claims and objections can be filed from November 10 to December 9, 2021. He said that during this revision, such voters whose age has completed 18 years as on January 1, 2022 and whose name is not registered in the photo voter list, they can fill up all the required forms and get the latest passport size color photograph, Evidence of the date of birth and a copy of the document related to his residence can be presented before the designated officer of the polling station. Designated officers will be appointed by the concerned Electoral Registration Officer for receiving claims and objections at the polling stations. The District Election Officer said that during the campaign, Sunday, November 28, 2021 will be a special campaign day and the claims and objections received on December 31, 2021 will be settled. The final publication of photo voter lists will be done on January 15, 2022. The Deputy Commissioner urged the representatives of recognized political parties present in the meeting that booth level agents are to be appointed by the political parties at all the booths for the above works. He said that political parties should very soon appoint one booth level agent for each polling station and submit the relevant information on the prescribed form to the concerned Electoral Registration Officer and District Election Office. He requested all the political parties and workers to provide their full cooperation to the concerned officers and employees appointed in this work to keep the photo voter lists updated without error. Representatives of various political parties, officers and employees of the Election Department were present in the meeting.
