The Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances, Government of India has awarded National e-Governance Silver Medal to Baddi District Police of Himachal Pradesh for excellence in district level initiative in e-Governance. Baddi Police has been awarded this award for Third Eye: Evidence Based Policing/Governance with CCTV Surveillance Matrix in Industrial Hub BBN. During the two-day 24th National e-Governance Conference held in Hyderabad, Union Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Dr. Jitendra Singh on Friday presented a medal, trophy and one lakh rupees to IPS officer Rohit Malpani and his team, who were SP Baddi. Awarded with a check.
While being the SP of Police District Baddi, Malpani set up a network of CCTVs in the entire police district with the help of district administration, municipal body, BBNDA and industrialists by spending about Rs 2.70 crore. Due to the CCTV network, during 2019-21, assets worth about Rs 4 crore related to about 84 cases of theft and burglary were recovered. Apart from this, 48 unidentified accidents were unveiled and seven murder and 15 women related crime cases were also disclosed.
