On Tobacco Prohibition Day, students of Government Model Senior Secondary School, Halog Dhami, led by Principal Yogesh Sharma, took out a Tobacco Prohibition Campaign in the school premises and a rally in Dhami town on Tuesday to aware people about incurable diseases due to consumption of tobacco products. Made aware through competition, poems, slogan writing and also made aware to stay away from the consumption of tobacco, smoking. In this awareness rally, cadets of NCC unit including students of Pathshala, students of NSS (National Service Scheme) participated enthusiastically.
On this occasion, Principal Yogesh Sharma while motivating and exhorting the students said that they should make the common people including their neighborhood aware about the ill-effects and health harms caused by the consumption of tobacco products and advice to contribute to the society and nation building through healthy living. “Choose life, not drugs”, said principal Yogesh Sharma while addressing the public. In this awareness rally, all the teachers of the school praised the efforts of the students and while Principal Yogesh Sharma praised the students who performed admiringly in this awareness rally, student Kunal from Satluj Sadan, the student house of the school, got first position while Ajay from Beas Sadan ranked second place. Principal Yogesh Sharma and associate officers of NCC unit thanked all the students and teachers for participating in the awareness campaign and rally on the prohibition of tobacco products and said that the young generation themselves should come forward to make the general public aware against drugs and tobacco consumption so that the society and the nation be drug free.
