Piecemeal workers (working in workshops) serving in Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) will come on contract. The state government has issued its notification on Tuesday. It will be beneficial for workers with five years’ service with a diploma and six years’ experience without a diploma in workshop. Other left out workers will be brought on contract till March 31. In the meeting of the Board of Directors of HRTC, it was decided to bring Peace Meal workers on contract. Now its notification has been issued. At present 755 such Peace Meal Workers are eligible. They will be given appointments on 631 posts.
Remaining Piecemeal workers will be brought on contract according to the posts to be vacant till 31st March and 30th September 2022. It is noteworthy that the workers had gone on strike for 20 days for their demands, in such a situation the work of fixing the buses in the workshop came to a standstill. State General Secretary of Technical Employees Federation, Purna Chand said that technical staff and Piecemeal workers have benefited from this decision of the government. Secretary of Transport Joint Coordination Committee, Khamendra Gupta has welcomed the decision of the government.
