During the special inspection to remote corner schools of Mandi district. NCC Shimla commanding officer Colonel D.R. Gargey said that youth play crucial role in nation building. Addressing the NCC cadets of Government Senior Secondary Schools Karsog, Nihri and Seribanglow of upper areas of district Mandi of Himachal Pradesh here on Thursday during a special visit of commanding officer Colonel D.R. Gargey to inspect the NCC activities in the schools, he said the NCC cadets need to strengthen their inter-personal and intra-personal skills, which transform their lives to a vibrant mode. During this inspection visit of Commanding Officer Colonel D.R. Gargey, the T/O Om Prakash from Govt. Senior Secondary School Karsog, T/O Sant Ram, from Govt. Senior Secondary School Nihri, T/O from Govt. Senior Secondary and CTO Khem Chand from Govt. Senior Secondary School Seribanglow, introduced Commanding Officer Colonel D.R. Gargey on present NCC activities including training in different areas of NCC training and present enrollment status of the students in NCC in their schools. One can become a leader by hard work and sheer determination, Colonel D.R. Gargey added.
Commanding officer Colonel advised the cadets to improve their communication skills through reading books and searching for information on internet as it helps more rural background youths to grope myriads of ways to increase their skills in each arena of life to succeed including armed forces. Colonel D.R. Gargey also briefed over joining of armed forces through SSB and NDA and interacted with the ANOs, CTOs, TOs and school principles and conveyed his best wishes to them to support NCC, support Cadets for nation building. Colonel D.R. Gargey also congratulated the ANOs, CTOs, TOs, teachers and principals for imparting high standards of training to cadets. Earlier, Colonel D.R. Gargey received guard of honour from the cadets, which was a cynosure of all eyes. “I will look to improve the activities of NCC and spread it to areas where it has not reached. “I would like to encourage all NCC cadets to become disciplined citizens, to take part in all the activities, to learn and develop themselves as better human beings and as better citizens”, said Commanding officer Colonel D.R. Gargey.
Colonel D.R. Gargey also strongly encouraged youths to join NCC and to explore their talents while getting a chance to serve the motherland while honing their skills. “NCC is a youth forum in uniform that helps to explore one’s talents and potentials”, the commanding officer Colonel D.R. Gargey added. Colonel Gargey said that NCC sets to attract rural youth in remote corner of Himachal Pradesh but there is still need of motivation and awareness among rural youths. Colonel D.R. Gargey said that NCC is a reputed organization which is also a second line of defense. Which is also called the fourth army of India. In India, many youngsters are trained in line with defense in case the need arises. If students want to make their career option, then being a NCC cadet holds a lot of weight. In his visit, he was accompanied by Shimla PI Staff head member Manoj Kumar and other army Jwans/JCOs.
