Modern schools will be opened to provide better medical facilities to the people and higher education to the children in about 100 villages of northern India, adjacent to the China border. Roads in the districts and villages along the border will be dazzling, while there will be no shortage of electricity and water. In Himachal Pradesh, six police check posts will be set up in Samdo, Sarchu and Chitkul of Kinnaur and adjoining areas of Lahaul-Spiti bordering China.
The areas adjoining the China border of northern India will be developed so that the people here do not migrate. These villages will be developed from the point of view of tourism. Due to this the youth will get employment opportunities from door to door. Under the Vibrant Villages Programme, this matter will be completed. State Chief Secretary Ramsubhag Singh said that video conferencing will be done with the Border Management Secretary on Thursday in this matter.
Some areas of Kinnaur and Lahaul-Spiti districts of Himachal Pradesh share the border with China. Due to lack of basic facilities and lack of infrastructure development in these areas, people here are migrating to the cities. These villages remain cut off from the district headquarters for several days during snowfall. People also have to come to cities for education and medical facilities. Keeping all these problems in mind, the central and state governments want to develop the infrastructure of 100 villages in northern India, including Himachal, which is bordering China.
On the other hand, the state police wants to set up check posts in the border areas to ensure that there is no infiltration from the Chinese side in Himachal Pradesh. Apart from this, tourists from India and abroad reach Sarchu and other border areas in summer in these areas. During this time people of the area also do food stalls and other business.
On the other hand, people of Ladakh also come here to do business. During this, there are clashes between the businessmen on both sides, these check posts will also be effective in getting control over them. Chief Secretary Ramsubhag Singh has said that police check posts are to be established in the areas along the border. Talks are going on with the central government regarding this.
