Wheels of 102 and 108 ambulances will stop in Himachal from Thursday. In such a situation, people may have to face problems across the state. There will be problems in transporting patients to the hospital especially from far flung areas. Employees serving in 102 and 108 ambulances have made up their mind to leave work. There was a long discussion of employees with the company on Wednesday regarding the demands, but an agreement could not be reached. Employees say that the company is ready to accept their demands verbally, but is not ready to give in writing. In such a situation, now the employees have decided to leave the work. Purnachand, president of the Ambulance Employees Union, says that by Thursday morning, the employees will handover the vehicles to the CMO and BMO across the state. Its employees from all over the state will travel towards Shimla.
In Shimla, preparations are being made to speak against the government and the company. Puranchand says that in the coming days, ambulance workers can also gherao the secretariat. President of Ambulance Employees Union Purnachand said that the old company GVK, which is providing ambulance service in the state, has not paid one month’s salary to the employees. Also, the arrears received by the employees since 2015 have not been paid. Gratuity and other financial allowances have also not been provided to the employees. GVK left the services after the company’s agreement was terminated, but the employees’ money has not been paid.
Court orders not implemented!
Purnachand, president of the Ambulance Employees Union, said that orders were issued by the court that the employees should be given a salary of at least 18,000 rupees. Out of this, the salary of 15,000 should be given to the employees in hand, but after the lapse of two years, the orders of the court have not been implemented yet.
