After the end of the contract of 102 ambulances in Himachal, patients and pregnant women remained upset till 4 pm on Monday. They faced difficulties in reaching the hospital and returning home after being discharged. The company’s call center remained closed throughout the day.
In the evening, the talks between Health Secretary Amitabh Awasthi, Director of NHM and GVK Company officials came to an end and 102 ambulance service was restored. Now the company has agreed to provide services by November 30. However, due to the delay, the ambulance service, which was closed since late Sunday evening, had troubled women patients throughout the day from Monday morning.
GVK was already offered to continue the services, but the company was seeking financial help from the agreement for the losses incurred during the Corona period. In the talks held with the company, it was agreed to bring the matter of financial help in the upcoming cabinet meeting. In such a situation, the company has agreed to provide the services.
The government’s contract to run 102 ambulances was till November 14, while the contract for 108 will end on November 16. The company had given dismissal letters to the employees, now they have been called back. NHM Director Hemraj Bairwa said that the company has agreed to provide services. The company has started providing services from Monday evening.
