The written examination of Himachal Pradesh Police Constable Recruitment was conducted on Sunday amid tight security arrangements. 87 examination centers were set up in the state. 69,427 candidates participated in it. 6,254 candidates remained absent. The result of the exam will be declared within a week. 92 percent candidates gave the exam. To ensure that there is no disturbance in the centres, elaborate arrangements have been made by the department. Before entering the examination centers, the candidates were checked with metal detectors and other devices. To prevent the use of any kind of electronic gadgets and equipment, 1351 jammers were installed in the examination centres.
The examination was conducted under the surveillance of CCTV cameras. It was videographed in its entirety. Smart watches, hand bags, phones, pagers, bluetooth devices, ear phones, books, umbrellas were also kept outside the examination centre. Jewellery, chains, earrings were also not allowed to be taken to the examination centre. In many centers, the shoes, jackets, caps of the candidates were opened and searched. Range wise observers were deployed by the Himachal Police to prevent disturbances.
