In Himachal Pradesh, preparations have been started to introduce corona vaccine to 7.50 lakh children between the age group of 5 to 12 years. These children will be vaccinated in front of parents in schools and Anganwadi centers. Vaccines will not be administered if the parents refuse. After the vaccination, the children will be kept under the supervision of doctors for half an hour. If their health deteriorates, the health department will take them to the hospital, otherwise they will be sent home. The number of government and non-government schools in the state is about 25,000. To complete the vaccination drive, the health department will deploy 6,000 pharmacists, nurses and midwives in these schools.
The health department will give one day training to these employees before sending them to schools. Doctors will also be sent if needed. Vaccines will be administered in Anganwadi centers under the supervision of supervisors and workers. It has been made mandatory for the teachers to be present on the spot while administering the vaccine in schools. A message related to getting the vaccine will be sent on mobile to the parents of the students studying in the school. Himachal National Health Mission (NHM) Director Hemraj Bairwa said that the guidelines are being awaited from the center. Vaccine schedule is also being prepared.
