In a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur, it was decided to provide guarantee to Himachal Road Transport Corporation to take loan of Rs 110 crore from banks at competitive rates for payment of liabilities pending death and retirement gratuity and retired leave. Approval was given to increase the honorarium of elected representatives of Panchayati Raj Institutions.Honorarium of Zilla Parishad President increased from Rs. 12,500 to Rs. 15,000, Vice-President’s honorarium increased from Rs. 8,000 to Rs. 10,000, Member’s honorarium increased from Rs. 5,000 to Rs. 6,000, while Panchayat Samiti President’s honorarium increased from Rs. 7,000 to Rs. Approval was given to increase the honorarium of the member from Rs.5,000 to Rs.6,500, from Rs.4,500 to Rs.5,500 per month. Similarly, it was also approved to increase the honorarium of Gram Panchayat Pradhan from Rs. 4,500 to Rs. 5,500, that of Up-Pradhan from Rs. 3,000 to Rs. 3,500 and member’s honorarium from Rs. 500 to Rs. 600 per month.The cabinet approved the development plan for Shimla planning area after nearly 43 years. Till now the Interim Development Plan was being implemented. It was decided to separate the Gram Panchayat of Mandi, Jhangi from the development block Gohar and include it in the development block Nihari.The cabinet gave its approval to fill up six posts of different categories by creating a sub-division of Public Works Department at Jayanagar in Solan district.
