the appointments of ministers have not yet been done in Himachal Pradesh, but the Chief Minister and the Deputy Chief Minister have divided all the departments among themselves. The General Administration Department of the Himachal Government issued a notification in this regard on Tuesday late night. Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu has kept Finance, General Administration, Home, Planning and Personnel portfolios with himself.
Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri has been given the Department of Jal Shakti, Transport and Language, Art and Culture. The Chief Minister has kept five portfolios with himself, while the Deputy Chief Minister has been given three portfolios.
Till the appointments of other ministers are not done, the Chief Minister will look after all other departments except these. This is the first time in Himachal Pradesh that the Chief Minister and the Deputy Chief Minister have been given portfolios before the ministers. Earlier, along with the appointment of the Chief Minister, the ministers were appointed, only after that the portfolios were distributed.
This time the post of Deputy Chief Minister has also been approved for the first time in the state. Even on the third day of the swearing-in ceremony of the Chief Minister and the Deputy Chief Minister, the decision on the ministers could not be taken, so the portfolios were allotted to both of them to run the government work. Chief Secretary RD Dhiman issued a notification in this regard on Tuesday late night.
