Just before the election year, Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur has opened the mouth of the state exchequer to the officers and employees of the state. In the Joint Consultative Committee (JCC) meeting on Saturday, the Chief Minister has announced the much awaited new pay scale for the employees on the lines of Punjab. Its benefit will be given to 2.5 lakh employees and about 1.5 lakh pensioners of the state. It has also been announced to reduce the period of regularization of state government contract employees from three years to two years. This will benefit 19 thousand employees, as well as new recruits will also get benefit. Under the new pay scale, the lowest paid employees such as newly appointed clerks will get a monthly benefit of three to three and a half thousand rupees and senior HAS officers, doctors etc. will get a monthly benefit of 15 to 20 thousand rupees. Pensioners will also get benefits ranging from 1 to 10 thousand rupees. However, it is being properly calculated at the government level right now.Jai Ram Thakur made this announcement in the JCC meeting of Himachal Pradesh Non-Gazetted Employees Federation at Peterhof Shimla on Saturday after the recommendations of the Sixth Pay Commission were implemented in Punjab. CM Jairam announced to give new pay scale from January 1, 2016 and revised pay scale of January 2022 from February. He made announcements of about seven and a half thousand crore rupees for the employees. The new pay scale and revised pension will put an additional burden of Rs 6000 crore annually on the state treasury. The Chief Minister said that the state government was spending about 43 per cent of its total budget on employees and pensioners, which would increase to 50 per cent after the implementation of the Sixth Pay Commission.also made these announcements All pensioners and family pensioners will get revised pension and other related benefits from January 1, 2016. Dearness Allowance and Dearness Relief will be given on revised pay scale and revised pension or family pension. According to the Office Memorandum of May 5, 2009 of the Center also announced the implementation of the new pension system Invalid Pension and Family Pension with effect from May 15, 2003, which will put an additional burden of Rs 250 crore on the state exchequer.In respect of daily wage workers, part time workers, water guards and aerators etc., the period of one year each will be reduced for regularization and conversion as daily wage earners. An additional amount of Rs 10 crore will be released for payment of medical reimbursement bills.
