Value Addition and Marketing of “NTFP (Animal Origin)” under Green Skill Development Program (GSDP) in line with the Skill Development Mission of Government of India by Himachal Pradesh Council of Science, Technology and Environment (HIMCOST), Shimla, Environment Information Center (ENVIS Hub) : Certificate course on “Wild Beekeeping and Processing” was organized. Its objective is to enable the youth to get employment and self-employment in the environment and forest sector. This training program was organized from 22 November to 10 December 2021 in collaboration with the Horticulture Department, Himachal Pradesh. Fifteen students were trained under this programme. During this course the trainees were taken to various educational institutions and research organizations to demonstrate various techniques of beekeeping and to provide practical and practical training where the trainees were exposed to various aspects of beekeeping. The valedictory function of this training program was organized on 10th December, 2021 at Himcoast, Shimla under the chairmanship of Shri Satpal Dhiman, Joint Member Secretary, Himachal Pradesh Council of Science, Technology and Environment, Shimla. He made them aware about the purpose of this training program and the importance of beekeeping and how we can make our business enterprise. Dr. Gyan Singh Verma, Deputy Director cum Senior Marketing Officer, Horticulture Department attended the function as the chief guest. In the beginning of this program, Mrs. Priyanka Sharma, ENVIS in-charge gave information about this training (course). Certificates and mementos were given to the experts and trainees by Shri Satpal Dhiman, Joint Member Secretary, Himcoast on the completion of the training program. Officials of Environmental Information Center (ENVIS Hub) were present in this program.
