Within a month and a half, two villages in district Kullu were killed in a horrific fire. The ancestral houses built from the earnings of blood and sweat are now seen in a pile of ashes. 27 houses, 26 cowsheds and two deity temples have been destroyed by the fire in the inaccessible village of Majhan in the district. Even after 30 hours on Sunday, the fire continued to smolder in many houses. The people of the village affected by the horrific fire kept searching for the goods from the pile of ashes. Villagers are in shock after the fire that broke out in wooden-style houses built by collecting straw-straw.They have started worrying about the future. In the severe cold, the affected people are worrying more for their families, young children and the elderly. While dousing the fire, 22-year-old Jai Chand and 22-year-old Teerth Ram were injured. A mobile has been burnt. 38-year-old Gopal Chand’s two mobiles and an amount of Rs 22 thousand have also been burnt. He too got injured while putting out the fire.The affected villagers are Lotram, Kunj Lal, Teja Singh, Sher Singh, Tek Ram, Mohar Singh, Nara Devi, Karm Chand, Mirchand, Dhyan Singh, Tara Chand, Dev Raj, Jog Raj, Jeet Ram, Yan Singh and Rajkumar. Tried hard to save their homes, but could not save anything. The village has neither road facility nor adequate water. The villagers tried to extinguish the fire by digging the fields and throwing soil due to lack of water. Said that the spark of the fire was smoldering on the second day on Sunday as well. Now the villagers have high hopes from the Deputy Commissioner Kullu’s visit to the village. The houses of the affected will be built under the Chief Minister’s housing scheme, DC has given assurance Deputy Commissioner Kullu Ashutosh Garg said that the houses burnt in the horrific fire incident in Mazhan village would be built under the Chief Minister’s Housing Scheme. On Sunday, he reached Majhan village on foot for three hours and went to know about the plight of the affected families. Said that the houses of those whose houses have been destroyed in the fire, their homes will be sent to the government under a special case. Action will be taken as per the directions of Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur. The administration will provide all possible help to the affected.
