Himachal cricket team players Renuka Thakur and Harleen Deol will be part of the Indian women’s cricket team in the T20 cricket competition, which is going to be held in Birmingham, England, for the first time. With the selection, both the women cricketers will become the first cricketers from Himachal to participate in the Commonwealth Games.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India has announced the women’s cricket team for the upcoming Commonwealth Games to be held in Birmingham from 29 July. Team India has been included in Group A. It also includes teams from Australia, Barbados and Pakistan. Renuka Thakur and Harleen have been given a chance in the team. Harleen has left a mark with the bat as well as in the bowling. Renuka bowls fast. Renuka hails from Rohru in Shimla district, while Harleen hails from Punjab.
