Himachal Hosts Its Largest Fitness Championship, Promoting Health and Wellness

Over 150 fitness enthusiasts from across North India, including participants from Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, and Himachal Pradesh, gathered in Shimla for the grand Shimla Fitness Championship Season 2. Touted as Himachal’s largest unisex fitness event, the competition celebrated strength, endurance, and the power of community, while also promoting an anti-drug initiative to encourage youth to pursue healthier lifestyles.

The event showcased fierce competition in three categories: arm wrestling, push-ups, and planks. The arm wrestling category, open to men in different weight divisions (50-60 kg, 60-70 kg, 70-80 kg, and 80+ kg) and women in an open-weight format, saw intense participation. Siddhaant Kathuria emerged as the overall champion, securing the top position in men’s arm wrestling and ultimately winning the grand prize of ₹20,000, along with a trophy and certificate. In the push-ups challenge, Bharat Sharma demonstrated extraordinary strength with 119 push-ups to claim victory, while Bhavya displayed exceptional endurance in the plank challenge, holding the position for a remarkable 11 minutes and 20 seconds.

The championship was graced by the presence of professional arm wrestler and National Gold Medalist Sanjay Deswal, who also acted as the referee and shared his inspiring journey with the participants. His message highlighted the importance of perseverance, fitness, and discipline in life, leaving a lasting impact on everyone present.

The event also drew significant attention from the local community and influencers who came in for the support of the tournament. Himachali artists and personalities, including AC Bhardwaj, Honey Negi, Pawan Dragta, Shiwani Thakur, Rajni Samta, Lucky Artline, Clicker Anshu, and Pihu Zinta, added vibrancy and excitement to the occasion, making it a true celebration of fitness and unity.

The competition was organised by DA Fitness and Sai Eternal Foundation. Veenu Diwan, the founder of DA Fitness, who headed the event, expressed immense gratitude for the overwhelming response. “Our goal has always been to promote health, fitness, and community engagement while steering youth away from harmful influences like drugs. Events like these provide a platform for individuals to channel their energy positively and inspire others to follow suit. The success of this championship motivates us to plan even bigger initiatives in the future,” he stated.

The championship, hosted at the iconic Woodville Palace, Shimla, proved to be a milestone event, setting a benchmark for fitness competitions in the state. With its focus on inclusivity, community building, and spreading awareness about the benefits of a healthy lifestyle, the Shimla Fitness Championship Season 2 has firmly established itself as a transformative event in Himachal’s fitness landscape.
