The Private Educational Institutions Regulatory Commission in Himachal has decided to issue unique registration numbers to the students of all private universities. For this, the commission has sent a proposal to the government. This system will be started in private universities from next year. In a press conference in Shimla office of the Commission on Wednesday, Chairman Major General Retired Atul Kaushik told that the reputation of the state has been tarnished by the fake degree case of Manav Bharti University. Now the commission has decided to give unique registration number to all the students. Soon the commission will start online management system. A Government of India company has been selected for this. Through this system, every activity of private universities will be monitored by the commission. Information related to admission, attendance, degrees, educational qualification of teachers, infrastructure will be available on the portal. Six out of 16 private universities in the state are recognized by NAAC. Three universities are going to get NAAC accreditation soon. Many private universities removed unqualified teachers Unqualified teachers who do not meet UGC norms have been fired by many private universities. Some universities have given these teachers some time to complete the qualification. From the new academic session, only qualified teachers will serve in all private universities. The commission had issued a letter to the universities concerned to take action against them, disqualifying 35 percent of the teachers in the investigation conducted in the past.
