This time in January, Himachal Pradesh has recorded the highest rainfall in 11 years. January received 173.2 mm of rain, which is 93 per cent more than normal. The maximum rain has been received in district Sirmaur. At the same time, the weather is expected to remain clear in the state on Tuesday. A yellow alert has been issued for rain and snowfall from February 2 to 4. There is a possibility of change in weather due to the activity of Western Disturbance. On Monday, most areas of the state including the capital Shimla remained sunny. At the same time, even after a week of snowfall, 127 roads, 32 power transformers and 44 drinking water schemes remained stalled in the state till Monday evening. Maximum 102 roads are closed in Lahaul Spiti district, 11 in Chamba, 6 in Shimla, 4 in Kullu and 4 in Mandi. 24 power transformers are closed in Sirmaur, 6 in Chamba and one each in Shimla-Kullu. 31 drinking water schemes are affected in Lahaul and 13 in Chamba.
