Police has got another success in the case of 7 deaths due to spurious liquor in Sundernagar of Mandi district. Police have busted the illegal liquor business in a 2-storey house in Balcheri near Loharghat of Ramshahar, the hilly area of Nalagarh. Police have also found empty bottles, bottle washing machines, empty drums and batch punching machines, VRV fools levels on the spot. Illegal bottling of country liquor was being done here. Ramshahar Police has seized the house by registering a case on the complaint of Himanshu Panwar, Deputy Commissioner of State Tax and Excise, Solan.
According to the information, the said house was built some time back by Amarjeet, a resident of Bilaspur, but he too had sold it 4 years ago to a person named Pyaru. As soon as the police team along with the employees of Excise and Taxation Department went to the spot, empty bottles and bottle washing machine were lying on the roof of the building. The ground floor building of the house was found open and empty drums of 200 ml capacity were lying there. The main gate of the first floor was locked so efforts were made to contact the owner of the building but the owner could not be traced. After this, the head of Saur Panchayat Brijlal Sharma was called on the spot.
When the police broke the locks of the house in the presence of Panchayat Pradhan and others, some items like empty bottles labeled VRV Fools Limited-VRV Orange, unused holograms, batch punching machine, tape rolls printed on it were found 2 of VRV Foods Limited Sansarpur Terrace. Bottles and 5 empty drums of 200 liters capacity were found. All this material indicates that illegal bottling of country liquor was being done in the premises.
DSP Navdeep Singh said that the police have seized the house and the landlord is being traced. The police have registered a case under the Excise Taxation Act. Let us inform that even before this, an illegal liquor factory in Nalagarh has been busted by the police.
