Four thousand teachers will be recruited in pre-primary schools of Himachal Pradesh in February. In an informal conversation with reporters at the state secretariat on Friday, Education Minister Govind Singh Thakur said that the department is preparing the rules for the recruitment process. Approval will be taken from the cabinet regarding this. Under the proposal prepared by the Education Department, Anganwadi workers including Nursery Teacher Training and Early Child Hood Care courses will be given a chance for recruitment. It is proposed to fill 70 per cent posts of teachers from NTT and Early Child Hood Care courses and 30 per cent from Anganwadi workers. A final decision will be taken in the cabinet meeting regarding age limit and educational qualification. Out of 70 per cent posts of NTT and Early Child Hood Care Course quota of teachers to be recruited for Nursery and KG classes being run in government schools, 35 per cent posts will be filled batch wise and 35 per cent posts will be filled by direct recruitment. Recruitment will be done as per NCTE rules. In the proposal prepared by the departmental officers, it has been recommended to recruit teachers in schools with more than ten students and to fix the age limit for teachers from 18 to 45 years. The final decision regarding schools will be taken in the cabinet meeting itself. The Education Minister said that the final decision on the opening or closing of schools in the state would be taken in the proposed state cabinet meeting on January 31. The Education Department will take its proposal in the meeting. He said that the cases of corona infection have not reduced in the state yet. Some scientists are also talking about the peak coming in February. In such a situation, the decision will be taken only after discussing with the students, teachers, parents including the enlightened sections of the society. Consultation is going on with the Law Department regarding JBT recruitment. Consultations are being held with the Law Department to start JBT recruitment in the state. The Education Minister told that the matter was in the High Court. Right now the court has stayed the old orders. In such a situation, discussions are being held with the Law Department regarding the issuance of results from Hamirpur Staff Selection Commission. Decision will be taken soon. Efforts are also on to start batch wise recruitment soon.
