The Court of the himachal Pradesh Private Education Institutions Regulatory Commission (HPPERC) gave this decision after finding many flaws in it. The Directorate of Higher Education and Himachal Pradesh University (HPU) have been directed to terminate the affiliation given to this institution. The final hearing of the matters related to the institute was held in the court of the chairman of the commission, Major General retired Atul Kaushik. The court observed that the institute for B.Sc. HMCS course has charged exorbitant fees, while the fee structure has not been approved. It was not told to the students that under this course they have been given admission under distance education. The students were given the degree of distance education by taking the fees of regular courses.
This too was not approved by the Institute. Simultaneously for two years, the institute took affiliation from HPU and Madurai Kamaraj University, Tamil Nadu. The students were also not made aware of the information about the admission being dependent on the final decision of the Madras High Court. The court said that it is not in the interest of the students to keep this institution running. As such, it should be terminated and closed. The court directed the institute directors to grant DMC and degrees from Madurai Kamaraj University to the students as per the directions of the Madras High Court. Let us inform that a few months back, the commission had imposed a fine of Rs 25 lakh on the institute.
Students to be given admission in other institutions
The commission has asked the Registrar of HPU to help the students of the said institute to take admission in other institutions. After the examinations of the current session, the students will be migrated to other institutions. The commission has also ordered the institutions to take all the clearances in time.
