Trial run of panoramic vistadome train will start from Shimla to Shoghi on Kalka-Shimla heritage railway track from today. RDSO (Research Design and Standards Organisation) Lucknow team has reached Kalka for trial, completed the work of shifting trial equipment after rack placement at Kalka railway station as per pre-determined schedule on Sunday.
Four coaches will be run and trials will be held at a speed of 22 – 28 kmph. The first five days will have trial with empty coaches and the next five days will be trial with weights (sand bags). RDSO’s Joint Director (Testing) RS Tiwari said that all instrumentation preparations for the trial have been completed.
