Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur during his one-day stay in Kinnaur district today laid foundation stones and inaugurated 31 development projects costing Rs.77 crore in Recangpio. After this, while addressing the people present at the inauguration of the five-day Tribal Dance and Craft Mela, the Chief Minister said that the State Government is celebrating this year as the golden jubilee year of complete statehood. He said that the central government has provided financial assistance of Rs 30 lakh to organize this mega event. He said that the exhibition organized on this occasion is a powerful platform for the tribal handloom and handloom weavers to sell their products. He said that Kinnaur district is famous all over the world for its rich culture and traditions. Jai Ram Thakur said that today we need to save and preserve the rich culture and traditions of the state. He said that Kinnaur district is progressing continuously in various areas of development including horticulture, education, health. He said that Himachal Pradesh has achieved 100 per cent target in providing first dose of covid-19 vaccination and Kinnaur district has emerged as a leader and it is 100 per cent target in providing second dose of covid-19 vaccine. The first district of the country has been made. Paying tributes to former Speaker of the Vidhan Sabha, Late Thakur Sen Negi, the Chief Minister said that he was not only a great administrator and leader, but also a major conductor of tribal culture. He said that efforts would be made to further strengthen the museum established here. He said that Shyam Saran Negi, the first voter of independent India, also belongs to this area.Jai Ram Thakur said that due to his belonging to rural and hilly areas, he is well acquainted with the developmental needs of these areas. He announced the creation of one post of Additional District Magistrate in the district headquarters with a view to further strengthen the administrative functioning. He also announced opening of Primary Health Center at Shobrang and setting up of Veterinary Dispensary at Gram Panchayat Sangrah. Apart from this, he announced to upgrade the status of Community Health Center Bhavanagar to Civil Hospital and Government High School, Panavi to Government Senior Secondary School. He said that Patwar circle Kanam would be shifted from Tehsil Pooh and brought under Tehsil Murang. Earlier, the Chief Minister inaugurated the former Speaker of the Assembly, Late Thakur Sen Negi Museum. He also paid floral tributes at the statue of the late leader. He flagged off two water tender vehicles of fire fighting. Jai Ram Thakur inaugurated the promotion work of Phase 1 to 4 of drinking water supply scheme Sapni constructed at a cost of Rs 1.43 crore in Gram Panchayat Sapni of Sangla Tehsil, 170 feet long construction at Baspa Khad on Batseri link road at a cost of Rs 1.30 crore. Bellypul, 160 feet long Bailey bridge on the Bhaba khad on the link road of Shangaon village constructed at a cost of Rs 5.25 crore, Tapri (Choltu) Punang road constructed at a cost of Rs 3.18 crore, Sub-health center Runag constructed at a cost of Rs 24 lakh , PSA oxygen production plant of 250 LMP capacity established at a cost of Rs 92 lakh under Community Social Responsibility (CSR) in Regional Hospital Requipment, Drinking Water Scheme constructed at a cost of Rs 63 lakh in Gram Panchayat Rispa, Skiba, Gram Panchayat Rarang of Murang Tehsil Inaugurated drinking water supply scheme for Rarang, Khadra Swaden and Shilapur villages constructed at a cost of Rs.68 lakhs.
