The parade to be performed in national celebrations arouses a sense of patriotism: Colonel D.R. Gargey
In the historic Ridge Maidan Shimla, 7 H.P. (I) Coy National Cadet Corps (NCC)Shimla, under Commanding Officer Colonel D.R. Gargey’s direction, instructions and training- the cadets participated in the Independence Day celebrations parade. Police personnel, home guards, national volunteers and army personnel, Scouts and Guides and NCC cadets attended the district level Independence Day celebrations held on this great festival of Independence Day here on Monday. In the Independence Day celebrations’ parade, seventy-five cadets gave a message of patriotism, freedom fighters, sacrifices, martyrs, all armed forces and honor to the Indian Army through their performance in the Parade. At the same time, NCC cadets were quite happy to attend this Independence Day celebrations parade. The moment was a new experience for some cub cadets that they had the opportunity to join the parade on this special great day for the honor of the nation, the nation’s pride, and motherland India.
On this great occasion, Himachal Pradesh’s Urban Development Minister Suresh Bhardwaj presented on this Independence Day celebrations and he inaugurated the independence day ceremony. After the national flag hoisting, the cadets marched in Ridge Maidan Shimla in honor of the nation’s pride tricolor national flag, the pride of the nation. Commanding Officer Colonel D.R. Gargey says that the festivals and ceremony of Independence Day, Republic Day and other national pride parade was a golden moment for the upcoming future of the NCC cadets and at the same time there was national devotion, nation-love, unity, discipline, duty among youth and cadets, and inspire to do excellent work for the progress of the nation.
The preparations for parade and marching are also done in educational institutions on behalf of HP (I) Company National Cadet Corps Shimla and in other NCC units, but from guard of honor to weapon-training and other military training is imparted in NCC annual training camp, though NCC cadets get to learn many new things in the parade to be conducted on the great occasions of Independence Day, Republic Day”, said Commanding Officer Col. D.R. Gargey. Colonel Gargey said that this time also the Cadets of 7 H.P. (I) Company National Cadet Corps (NCC) Shimla’s Senior Division and Senior Wing Cadets participated in the Independence Day celebrations parade, while other cadets participated in their respective educational institutions, whereas before this, NCC cadets in all educational institutions under the Amrit Mahotsav series of independence, presented tri-color drive, and disseminated it’s message to every household and also patriotic programs and raising patriotism passion among the general public by presenting other competitive programs related to patriotic were presented.
Colonel D.R. Gargey said that the NCC squad was divided into three parts which included Senior Division Cadets and Senior Wing Cadets. Colonel Gargey said that the cadets performed well for which they deserve for congratulations. 30 Senior Division and Senior Wing cadets from Kotshehra College, 22 cadets of Senior Division (11) -Senior Wing (11) from Sanjauli College, 14 Cadets from Senior Wing of St. Beds’ College, 8 from Sunni College Senior Division (3) and Senior Wing (5) while 1 Cadet of Senior Division from APG Shimla University participated in Independence Day celebration parade. At the same time, training staff members, JCO, NCO and associate NCC officers were present for the guidance of the cadets.
These participant cadets say that by joining the parade, such an experience was as if they were part of the police and the army, it was a feeling of being proud when the Commanding Officer Colonel D.R. Gargey selected us for the parade, we were very excited from the same day of ours selection. “Our NCC cadets participated in the parade along with army, police, national volunteers, home guards and other armed forces personnel and were part of this great festival of patriotism, cadets performed their tops and all the guests and people present appreciated the cadets, this thing in itself arouses a sense of patriotism towards their nation and also gives happiness”, said Commanding Officer Col. D.R. Gargey.
