Himachal Pradesh BJP meeting to be held in Chandigarh to review the defeat has been cancelled. Reports from the Mandal Presidents and candidates have not come before the meeting. Because of this the meeting has been postponed. Now it will be after November 23. One section wants to hold the meeting in Chandigarh and the other is trying to get it done in Shimla. After the consultation in the meeting, the appointment of many leaders of the government and the organization is believed to be fixed, but action will now be taken against them with some delay.
Due to the postponement of the meeting, there was no review on the defeat of the state BJP in Chandigarh on Monday. National Vice President Saudan Singh was to specially participate in the meeting. State in-charge Avinash Rai Khanna, co-in-charge Sanjay Tandon, Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur, State President Suresh Kashyap, former Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal etc. leaders were to participate. All of a sudden it has been postponed after discussion on many topics.
Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur was to participate in a video conferencing dialogue with Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Monday. From Tuesday, he has to participate in the presiding officers’ conference and its preparations being held in the state assembly. Due to many such reasons, the CM’s program to participate in this meeting has not been made. A section of BJP leaders is wishing that the meeting could be held at Oakover, the residence of Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur or it could be held at the state guest house Peterhof.
Some leaders are in favor of getting it done in Chandigarh for the convenience of BJP in-charge and for other reasons. Therefore, a vote has not yet been made on the time and place of the meeting. State BJP in-charge Avinash Rai Khanna said that this meeting to review the defeat will probably be held after November 23. There was already doubt about the place and time of the meeting. In between, it has been postponed due to many events, festivals and other reasons.
Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur said that this was not the meeting of the core committee of BJP in Chandigarh. He had to sit down to hold a meeting with some senior party leaders. Some other things have come in between, due to which this meeting has been adjourned. Had to sit with some senior party leaders, but this meeting has been postponed further.
