Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur said that the Bulk Drug Pharma Park would attract an investment of Rs 50,000 crore and provide employment to 30,000 people. It will be a great model project in Himachal in terms of employment and investment. The CM thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for this gift. Said that he has met Prime Minister Narendra Modi regarding the demand for this park.
What is Bulk Drug Park?
It is a space with common infrastructure facilities for the exclusive manufacture of APIs or DIs or KSM.
Bulk Drug Park will also have a common waste management system.
Criteria of a Bulk Drug Park Selection:
- A land area to be not less than 1000 acres for all states except 7000 acres for hill states.
- A state will propose only one site along with its estimated cost, feasibility studies, environmental risk assessment etc.
- Department of Pharmaceuticals-led Project Management Agency (PMA) will assess the state proposals and will forward it to Scheme Steering Committees for approval.
CM Jairam said in a press conference at State Secretariat Shimla on Wednesday that 20,000 people will get direct employment and 10,000 indirectly in this Bulk Drug Pharma Park.
1,000 crore will be received from the Central Government as Grant-in-Aid. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made Himachal, Gujarat and Andhra Pradesh proud by giving three Bulk Drug Pharma Parks. It will be built on 1,405 acres of land. It will have 1,366 acres of government land and 39 acres of private land. The total project cost will come to Rs 1,190 crore. We should stand on our own feet under self-reliant India. In this episode came the idea of Bulk Drugs Pharma Park. Bulk Drug Pharma Park is a big achievement of the state. Earlier this park was considered to be made in Nalagarh-Baddi area, but suitable place has been found in Una district.
