Dr. Sikandar elected unopposed to the Rajya Sabha

Dr. Sikandar Kumar, former Vice Chancellor of Himachal Pradesh University (HPU), has been elected unopposed as a Rajya Sabha MP. On Thursday, Assembly Secretary Yashpal Sharma gave him a certificate of MP after no other nomination came. Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur was also present during this. Dr. Sikandar will be the third Rajya Sabha MP from Himachal Pradesh. On April 2, the tenure of sitting Congress MP Anand Sharma will end. Congress did not field any candidate, which is why Dr. Sikandar was declared elected. Now Himachal will be represented in Rajya Sabha by Jagat Prakash Nadda, Indu Goswami and Dr. Sikander Kumar.
