In a selfless act of heroism, Sohan Lal, a driver of the HRTC bus traveling from Mandi to Sarachi, tragically lost his life to a heart attack while ensuring the safety of his passengers, including 35 school children. Heroic HRTC Driver’s Quick Actions Avert Disaster Amidst Heart Attack Crisis
On a fateful day, Sohan Lal was at the wheel, carrying a bus full of passengers, when he experienced chest pain near Bagachanogi, approximately 40 km from Thunag. Despite his discomfort, he skillfully parked the bus on the roadside and sought assistance at a nearby shop. While efforts were made to rush him to medical facilities, Sohan Lal passed away en route to the Medical College in Nerchowk.
Eyewitnesses and grateful passengers attested that the courageous driver had already been experiencing chest pain before the incident. It was his alertness and quick actions that prevented a potential accident, ensuring the safety of everyone on board.
A Touching Tribute:
In a poignant gesture, fellow drivers, conductors, and staff paid homage to the late Sohan Lal in a unique manner. His body was respectfully adorned in a decorated coffin, and a bus, adorned with flower garlands, carried him to his final resting place. Prior to the departure, a two-minute silence was observed to honor the brave driver’s memory.
