Ajay Thakur has brought laurels to Himachal at national and international level in kabaddi competition. He has also been the captain of the Indian team and in the year 2016 he has also led the Indian Kabaddi team. Apart from this, Ajay Thakur, who was included in the Indian team in 2014 during the Asian Games, performed well and won a gold medal for the country. He has also been honored with Padma Shri and Arjuna Award by the Government of India.
Recently, Ajay Thakur has accused the Himachal Pradesh Kabaddi Federation of corruption. Ajay Thakur has refused to play for Himachal Pradesh team this year. He said that this is not his personal fight. He is fighting for all such talented players of the state who have not been selected in the state kabaddi team. He said that he will not play Pro Kabaddi this time.
Ajay Thakur said that he has never supported theft and he is not going to apologize to anyone. He said that he is standing with the youth of the state. The association itself should apologize to the youth of the state for the way rigging is going on in the selection of Himachal Kabaddi team.
In reply to the allegations made the association said that there has been no rigging of any kind in the National Kabaddi team.
