Former Himachal BJP state president Khimi Ram Sharma joined Congress in the presence of Himachal Congress in-charge Rajeev Shukla in Delhi. While the joining of Khimi Ram Sharma to the Congress has given a setback to the BJP, the Congress leaders of district Kullu also started to panic. For a long time, Khimi Ram Sharma was keeping distance from the BJP.
In the year 1999, Khimi Ram Sharma contested as a Zilla Parishad election. Later also became the President of the Zilla Parishad. Twice became MLA from Banjar Vidhan Sabha constituency. At the same time, became Forest Minister in the Dhumal government.
Khimi Ram Sharma has also been the state president of BJP. He was completely marginalized after Khimi Ram Sharma’s ticket was cut for the 2017 assembly elections. After this, neither the government asked nor was given any position in the organization. In such a situation, now he has joined the Congress. Khimi Ram Sharma is considered to have a good hold in Banjar assembly constituency, while he has been visiting villages of Banjar assembly constituency for some time.
