Union Defense Minister Shri Rajnath Singh dedicated 27 strategically important projects to the nation in four states and two union territories of the country through virtual medium from New Delhi today. These projects have been constructed by the Border Roads Organization (BRO). Chief Minister Shri Jai Ram Thakur ji participated in this program through virtual medium from Shimla. He said that out of the projects which have been dedicated to the nation today, five bridges have been constructed in Himachal Pradesh. Kothi-1 bridge, Kothi-2 bridge, Commander bridge and Patsio bridge on Manali-Sarchu road and Kashang bridge on Powari-Pooh road will contribute significantly to the security of the country. He said that these bridges on the alternate route to Leh would be of great help to our troops stationed in Jammu and Kashmir and Leh. Economic and social relations between the people of Leh-Ladakh would get further strengthened. Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur ji said that the local people would also get the benefit of these bridges. These will further strengthen the economic and social ties between the people of Leh-Ladakh including Keylong of Lahaul-Spiti. Now not only heavy military vehicles will be able to pass through here easily, but the local public will also be benefited. It will be convenient to take out apples, potatoes, peas, almonds and other crops from here. These bridges will also contribute significantly in increasing the economy of Kinnaur district.
