While presiding over the Young Achievers Award function organized by the prestigious newspaper Amar Ujala here today, Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur said that the importance and role of media is increasing continuously in the present scenario. He said that Amar Ujala Group was discharging its responsibilities as well as social concerns. He said that the role of developmental journalism is very important for the society. Intense journalism not only gives a new direction to nation building but also encourages intellectual thinking. Jai Ram Thakur said that respect boosts the morale of any person and it also inspires others to move forward continuously towards their cause. Today the youth are moving ahead with progressive thinking and instead of looking for employment, they are working hard to establish their own enterprise. The Chief Minister said that the state government has started many ambitious schemes to realize the dreams of the youth. . In promoting youth entrepreneurship, the Mukhyamantri Swavalamban Yojana launched by the present State Government has yielded encouraging results and this scheme has become very popular. Under the scheme, 4862 projects with an investment of Rs.860 crore have been approved. Out of these, 2593 units with an investment of about Rs 430 crore have been established and 7216 people have got employment near their doorsteps. He said that Mukhyamantri Startup Yojana is also being run for the youth to get a conducive environment to start industries and their entrepreneurship needs are also highlighted. To promote entrepreneurship among the youth of the state, a livelihood allowance of Rs.25 thousand per month for one year and financial assistance of Rs.30 lakh for three years to the incubation centers is being provided to the trainees. Under the scheme, 191 startups and incubation centers have been provided benefits by spending Rs 11.35 crore. The State Government has created a Venture Fund of Rs.10 crore under Him Start Up Scheme.Jai Ram Thakur said that the State Government has also launched many schemes in the horticulture and agriculture sectors which are proving helpful in making the youth a successful farmer.
