Himachal Pradesh Tourism to Start Hot Air Balloon Rides in Shimla
Now tourists will be able to see the view of the beautiful plains of Shimla city of Himachal Pradesh from the sky. On the lines of Bangalore and Ahmedabad, preparations are being made to start helicopter joy ride in Shimla. This facility will be available from Sanjauli Heliport in Shimla. The tourism department has planned to start this service in this summer tourist season. Tourists will have to spend about Rs 1800 for a ride of about 15 minutes. The process for this will be started as soon as the permission of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) is received.
Tourists and locals visiting Shimla will be able to enjoy flying in the air through Helicopter Joy Ride. During the joy ride, tourists will be able to see the bird’s eye view of Shimla city, the peak of Taradevi and the forest of Chhabra, apart from the beautiful valleys of Shimla. Five people will be able to board the helicopter at a time for the joy ride. There is also a plan to provide the facility of booking helicopter joy ride to the tourists through the website of the tourism department.
Joy ride will start from Sanjauli Heliport:
Amit Kashyap, Director of Amit Tourism Department said that preparations are on to start helicopter joy ride from Sanjauli Heliport. Around Rs 1800 will have to be paid for a 15-minute ride. There are also plans to start hot air balloon flights at the heliport. Efforts are being made to start both the services in this summer tourist season.
There is also a plan to start hot air balloon flight from Sanjauli Heliport in the summer tourist season. This balloon will fly up to a height of 500 to 800 feet. 10 to 15 people will be able to fly in it at a time. 200 rupees will be the tight ticket. The duration of the flight will be around 20 to 25 minutes. Tourists will be able to see the view of the whole city from the hot air balloon. Trained pilots will be called to fly it. One end of the rope of the balloon will be tied to the ground for safe flight.
