Despite the Covid epidemic in Himachal Pradesh, there has been an unprecedented increase in the economic growth rate. This rate has been pegged at 8.3 per cent in the financial year 2021-22, while it was -5.2 in 2020-21. In this way, it has increased by about 14 percent. Per capita income is also expected to increase by 10 per cent. It stands at Rs 2,01,854, which is Rs 51,528 more than the national estimated per capita income. Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur presented the Economic Survey for the financial year 2021-22 in the House on Thursday.
After contraction in the state’s economy in the year 2020-21, the real GDP is projected to grow by 8.3 per cent in the year 2021-22. There has been an increase of 2.7 percent in 2021-22 as compared to the year 2019-20. GDP at constant prices is estimated at Rs 1,24,400 crore in 2021-22, while the provisional estimate of real GDP for the year 2020-21 is Rs 1,14,814 crore. The GDP at prevailing prices in the year 2021-22 is estimated at Rs 1,75,173 crore. The provisional estimate of GDP for the year 2020-21 is Rs 1,56,675 crore.
