Transport Minister Bikram Thakur put up a blockade on the Bhuli bridge adjoining Mandi town on the Chandigarh-Manali National Highway late on Friday night. More than 100 vehicles coming to Himachal from outside states were stopped during the blockade. Of these, more than 30 vehicles were also challaned. Challans of more than 25-25 thousand have been issued for two vehicles. A Volvo bus was also confiscated. The passengers who were in the bus were sent from the spot in the transport corporation bus.
The Transport Minister had reached Mandi with an official program. During this, he put up a blockade on the Bhuli bridge. He said that complaints were being received for a long time that the vehicles entering from outside states are not paying tax and are entering Himachal illegally. This action has been taken in this regard.
