Students should get on by acquiring new innovations, vistas and basic knowledge for their personality development, says HPPSC Member Dr. Rachna Gupta
Senior most member of Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission Dr. Rachna Gupta partake in “Pratibha -22” Programs here on Friday organized by Department of Journalism and Mass Communication of APG Shimla University. Dr. Rachna Gupta also inaugurated the new “Campus Radio” in the Media Studio of the department of journalism and mass communication of the APG Shimla University.
“Students should get on by acquiring innovations, vistas and basic knowledge for their personality development and use knowledge in the interest of the nation and society”, this was stated today by senior member of Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission Dr. Rachna Gupta said after inaugurated the “Pratibha-22” program organized by the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication of APG Shimla University and the new “Campus Radio” in the Media Studio of the Journalism and Mass Communication Department of the APG Shimla university.
“Today the nature of journalism has changed. Even though the world has become digital today due to the development of information technology, but information and media content should be based on research so that reliable news and information can be provided to the public along with healthy entertainment”, added Dr. Rachna Gupta while addressing the students of APG Shimla University.
Addressing the students, she said that one, who does not keep up with the times, lags behind. She said that even today Radio is the medium of communication for its truth.
She said that young generation download HPPSC app and get information about their career related notifications through this app. She said that HPPSC has set up an e-library on its website, in which the youth of rural areas have been given important information to prepare for various competitions.
She said that government has made the fees free for girls to apply for jobs in the Public Service Commission. She also given important tips to the youth to create self-employment and prepare for competitive examinations, along with proper time management and right study material and interview preparation.
She called upon the parents in the program to give higher education to the daughters, so that their future can be bright and they can achieve new heights in every sphere of the society.
She said that youth can achieve progress in their career by joining e-technology. She also called upon the youth to take advantage of various self-employment schemes being run by the government.
During this “Pratibha-22” occasion, Dr. Rachna also observed “Short Films, Photography Demonstrations and Collage Creation” made by the students of Journalism and Mass Communication and students of other departments of APG Shimla University, and she appreciated the creativity and talent shown by the students in film making, photography, and she appreciated for their commendable work.
On the arrival of Dr. Rachna in the varsity campus, she was also given guard of honour by the NCC cadets of the APG Shimla University.
Prof. Dr. Ramesh Chauhan, the Vice-Chancellor of APG Shimla University, Prof. Dr. R.K. Choudhary, the Vice-Chancellor of Venkateshwara Open University, Balram Jha, teachers, professors, chairpersons and deans of different departments of APG Shimla University welcomed the chief guest Dr. Rachna.
On this occasion, cultural programs were also presented by the students of the university and participants in Pratibha-22 Program were honored by the chief guest.
During this occasion, Amandeep Chauhan, the faculty of law, Kalpana Verma, the chairperson of School of fashion designing of APG Shimla University, and Akshita Sharma, the young expert in handicrafts & handlooms were the special judges in the competition based on collage making, photography and short film making. Dr. Rachna Gupta also honored the judges.
The chairpersons of different departments, professors, non-teaching staff members, administrative officers of APG varsity, Dr. R.L. Sharma, associate Prof. Dr. Deepak Gupta from Degree College Solan remained present during the program.
